3D Construction Printing is the future of building technology. By fusing robotics with advanced material science, we achieve unprecedented sustainability and cost-efficiency.
3D Construction Printing is the future of building technology. By fusing robotics with advanced material science, we achieve unprecedented sustainability and cost-efficiency.
At AC3D (which stands for Automated Construction 3D), we develop vertically integrated 3D printing technology that makes construction cheaper, greener, and more productive. Our focus is on addressing the construction industry’s key challenges solving the global housing shortage, and reducing the negative environmental impact.
The current global housing shortage, — estimated at around 12 million homes annually — , is a multifaceted issue, underlined and compounded by:
Lack of productivity in existing technologies and s construction speed
Rising costs of existing technologies (high capex for modular, high opex for traditional construction)
Construction labor shortage, especially in developed countries
The environmental footprint of the construction industry is equally concerning, with construction being the world’s #1 waste producer. TwoAmong the major reasons for such impact are:
Traditional construction technologies use a lot of formworks which end up as waste
Inefficient material consumption
The construction industry is also the top contributor to CO2 output:
8% of global CO2 comes from cement production
Lack of energy efficiency in existing building methods
AC3D’s vision — with 3D printing at its core — is to develop a productive, cost-efficient, and sustainable construction automation technology that offers:
High productivity and scalability at reduced capital and operational costs
Enhanced construction quality and repeatability through automation and digital processes
Great potential for lowering construction costs, which translates to higher affordability
Accelerating the building process
Lesser reliance on labor, mitigating the shortage of skilled construction workers
Significant reductions in CO2 emissions by using sustainable binders like geopolymers, and implementing smart insulation techniques
Waste minimization by eliminating formwork and optimizing material usage
Free-form imaginative, AI-driven architectural design that streamlines the design- to- manufacture process while reducing lead -times
High level of resilience to natural disasters, and fast restoration if a disaster has occurred to traditionally builtd communities
Our Sustainable Development Goals
Cementless Material
Print the 1st net-zero 3D printed house utilizing our 100% cementless printing material. This will enable us to reduce the embodied carbon of our structures
Reducing construction waste
Through 3D printing we will reduce waste and excessive GHG production typically found in traditional construction
Energy Efficiency
Using our advanced printing head, we will develop 3D printed insulation to further increase the energy efficiency and sustainability of our buildings
